SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Concord (3-0-1, 1-0-0 MEC) handed Shepherd University (1-3-0, 1-1-0 MEC) a 4-0 setback in MEC women's soccer action at Shepherd on Sunday afternoon.
Courtney Wallace and Leah Foster each scored in the first half with Sarah Hill and Pilar Elias adding assists to give Concord a 2-0 lead at the break.
Miro Kontio and Maggie Hall each added second-half tallies. Leigh Wightman assisted on both scores.
Freshman goalkeeper Lulu Fricks (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) (3) and classmates Meghan Byers (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) (2) combined for five saves for the Rams. Katie Maher had a pair of saves for the Mountain Lions.
Concord had a 19-6 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Daemen College for a noon contest.
