SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Madison Baxter scored a pair of goals to lead 20th-ranked West Chester (9-3-0, 8-3-0 PSAC East) to a 3-1 win over Shepherd University (0-11-2, 0-10-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Saturday afternoon.
Baxter scored a pair of first half tallies and Hannah Zach netted a goal to give the Golden Rams a 3-0 lead at the break.
Freshman forward/midfielder Sara Hohn (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson) scored on a penalty kick at the 85:21 mark for the Rams.
Sophomore goalkeeper Lulu Fricks (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) (3 GA, 6 saves) and Meghan Byers (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) (0 GA, 3 saves) teamed to record nine saves for the Rams. Hayley McGee posted three saves for the Golden Rams.
West Chester had a 26-7 advantage in shots and an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Bloomsburg for a 1 p.m. match.
