SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University President Dr. Mary J.C. Hendrix and her husband, Chuck Craft, have committed $5,000 to go towards the Tennis Facility renovation project. This commitment kicks off the project, and allows work to begin on the facility. We are challenging alumni, friends, and family of Shepherd Athletics to match their contribution to see the project through to completion.
Renovations include leveling and resurfacing courts, power washing courts, repainting, relining, and updated posts, nets and wind screens.
Additionally, Shepherd will host the Will Pindell Memorial Tennis Tournament on Oct. 26-27 with proceeds going towards the facility renovation project.
"We are so grateful to Dr. Hendrix and Mr. Craft for their continued support of Shepherd University and Shepherd University Athletics," said Shepherd Vice President for Athletics Chauncey Winbush. "This project will give our student-athletes a facility to be proud of, while enhancing our ability to recruit great tennis players to Shepherd."
