Shepherd Football Downs Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Sophomore quarterback Tyson Bagent (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) completed 30-of-42 passes for 326 yards and two touchdowns to lead Shepherd (6-2, 4-1 PSAC East) to a 34-10 win over Millersville (2-6, 1-4 PSAC East) in PSAC East football action at Millersville on Saturday.

Shepherd took a 7-0 lead when Bagent teamed with senior wide receiver Devin Phelps (Baltimore, Md./St. Frances) on a 20-yard scoring play with 11:17 left in the first quarter. Junior kicker Hayden August-Scriven (North Potomac, Md./Quince Orchard) added the extra point.

Bagent teamed with senior running back Deonte Glover (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman/WVU) on a 14-yard touchdown pass with 7:38 left in the first quarter to increase the lead to 14-0.

Millersville got a 23-yard field from Chris Persiko with 13:02 left in the second quarter.

Glover scored on a 14-yard run with 4:27 left in the half to give the Rams a 21-3 advantage at the half.

August-Scriven connected on a 43-yard field goal with 12:08 left in the third quarter to up the lead to 24-3.

Sophomore running back Ty Hebron (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery) plunged in from seven yards out with 11:44 left in the fourth quarter to give the Rams a 31-3 advantage.

August-Scriven added a 33-yard field goal with 7:19 left.

Evan Morrill fired a 17-yard scoring strike to Drew Schwindenhammer with 43 seconds remaining to complete the scoring.

Miles Miller completed 14-of-31 passes for 120 yards for the Marauders.

Glover rushed 15 times for 94 yards to pace the Rams. Christian Smith rushed three times 38 yards for the Marauders

Junior wide receiver Rodney Dorsey (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) led the Shepherd receivers with seven catches for 48 yards. Senior wide receiver Dylan Brewer (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) added six catches for 61 yards and Glover had five grabs for 71 yards. Chris Dolan had five receptions for 36 yards to lead Millersville.

Shepherd had 457 yards of total offense, while Millersville totaled 241 yards.

Junior defensive lineman Juwan Addison (Richmond, Va./Monacan), freshman defensive end Emonte Vaught (Woodbridge, Va./C.D. Hylton), and sophomore defensive end Kyle Smith (Sterling, Va./Dominion) each had four tackles to lead the Rams. Addison and Vaught each added a pair of sacks. Junior defensive back Ponce DeLeon (Greenbelt, Md./Montgomery Blair) led the secondary with a pair of interceptions. Christian Martir had a game-high 14 tackles with an interception to lead Millersville.

The Rams return to action next Saturday when they host East Stroudsburg for a noon contest at Ram Stadium.
