MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Sarah Leverentz, Gillian Zimmerman, and Calie Swegon each scored three goals lead Millersville (2-2) to a 16-5 win over Shepherd (1-3) in women's lacrosse action at Millersville on Tuesday.
Junior attacker/midfielder Lillian Funke (Hagerstown, Md./Boonsboro) had a goal and an assist to pace the Rams. She added a match-high eight draw controls.
Sophomore attacker Sidney Kelly (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown), junior midfielder Mallory Davila (Hollywood, Md./St. Mary's Ryken), freshman midfielder Kira Barth (Sykesville, Md./Century), and freshman defender/midfielder Paige Alexander (Ashburn, Va./Briar Woods) each contributed a goal. Sophomore attacker Regan Brown (Reisterstown, Md./Manchester Valley) added an assist.
Genevieve Speights and Erin Fagan each added a pair of goals for the Marauders.
Millersville had a 6-2 lead at halftime.
Millersville held a 36-19 edge in shots and had a 12-11 advantage in draw controls. The Marauders held a 25-22 edge in ground balls. Shepherd was 14-of-19 in clears, while Millersville was 20-of-21.
Freshman goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded 12 saves for the Rams. Bryana Weston-Wyatt (1) and Shannon Davis (8) combined for nine saves for the Marauders.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Chestnut Hill for a 1 p.m. contest.
