SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Alejandro Fernandez and Abdallah Bangura each scored two goals to lead Slippery Rock (1-1) to a 7-0 win over Shepherd University (1-3) in men's soccer action at Slippery Rock on Wednesday.
The Rock had a 5-0 lead at halftime as Bangura scored twice while Luke Picchi, Ramses Minaya, and Fernandez each found the back of the net.
Nick Iagnemma and Fernandez added second half tallies.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jose Machado Orellana (Falls Church, Va./J.E.B. Stuart) and freshman netminder Billy Wood (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) each recorded four saves for the Rams. Matt Hunsburger (1) and Derek Hoffman (4) combined for five saves for The Rock.
Slippery Rock had a 24-6 advantage in shots and a 12-5 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Felician for a 1 p.m. match.
