SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd (2-5-1, 0-1-1 PSAC East) battled to a 2-2 tie with Shippensburg (1-2-2, 1-1-1 PSAC East) in men's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon.
Shippensburg took a 1-0 lead when Owen Iacobelli scored on a pass from Corbin Martin at the 29:17 mark.
The Rams tied the game at the 37:41 mark when Steven Zeballos Choque scored on a feed from senior midfielder Maxim Bode (Namajoy, Md./Lackey/College of Southern Maryland).
Shepherd took a 2-1 lead when freshman midfielder Ryan Sevilla (Monrovia, Md/Urbana) scored on a pass from Choque at the 58:52 mark.
The Raiders forced overtime when Julian Horstmann scored off a pass from Colin Marks at the 89:20 mark.
The Rams battled to earn the tie as they would play a man down after junior forward Carlos Castillo (Columbia/Blue Ridge CC) gained a red card after being awarded his second yellow card late in the first overtime period.
Freshman netminder Billy Wood (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) recorded 14 saves for the Rams. Jacob Zlotshewer had seven saves for the Raiders.
Shippensburg had a 32-14 advantage in shots and a 16-0 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to West Chester for a 3 p.m. match.
