SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Izzy Weigel scored a goal and assisted on a another to lead Shippensburg (4-3-0, 2-3-0 PSAC East) to a 4-0 win over Shepherd University (0-5-1, 0-5-0 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon.
The Raiders took a 1-0 lead into the break when Casey Bell scored on a header off a pass from Kelli Dunigan at the 30:17 mark.
Shippensburg added second half tallies by K.K. O'Donnell, Lauren Ocker, and Weigel.
Shippensburg had a 23-4 advantage in shots and a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
Sophomore goalkeepers Lulu Fricks (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) (4 saves, 1 GA) and Meghan Byers (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) (4 saves, 3 GA) combined for eight saves for the Rams. Delaney Shiflett recorded a save for the Raiders.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Mansfield for an 11 a.m. match.
