Sidney Kelly (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) scored three goals and added two assists to lead Shepherd (1-0) to an 11-9 win over Chestnut Hill (0-1) in women's lacrosse action at Chestnut Hill in the season opener for both schools on Saturday.

Paige Alexander (Ashburn, Va./Briar Woods) added three goals and an assist, while senior attacker
Emily Brown (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) netted a pair of goals.

Jordan Sauro (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll/Shippensburg) had a goal and an assist, while junior attacker
Regan Brown (Reisterstown, Md./Manchester Valley) and sophomore midfielder
Katherine Campbell (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill) each had a goal. Senior attacker
Megan Dusci Walkersville, Md./Walkersville/Frederick CC) added a pair of assists.
Senior defender
Lyric Feingold-Conaway (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) tied Gab Fanfarillo of Chestnut Hill with a match-high five draw controls.
Spencer Fitzgerald tallied four goals and Dai Pearson added a pair for the Griffins.
The game was tied 3-3 at halftime.
Shepherd had a 32-25 edge in shots and a 32-26 advantage in ground balls. Draw controls were even at 11-each. Shepherd was 15-of-19 in clears, while Chestnut Hill was 17-of-28.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded nine saves for the Rams. Mel Amador posted 18 saves for the Griffins.
The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host Wilmington (Del.) for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
