EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Shepherd University (13-1, 2-0 PSAC East) handed host East Stroudsburg (4-8, 1-1 PSAC East) a 3-0 setback in PSAC East volleyball action at East Stroudsburg on Friday night. The Rams recorded a 25-12, 25-14, 25-22 victory. Shepherd increased its win streak to 12 matches.
Junior outside hitter
Kiara Rakestraw (Uhrichsville, Ohio/Indian Valley) had 13 kills, 11 digs, and three aces, while sophomore outside hitter
Mikaylah Hoy (Sharpsburg, Md./Heritage Academy) recorded 13 kills and 24 digs to lead the Rams.
Junior middle blocker
Elyssia Smith (Fredericksburg, Va./Colonial Forge) had a match-high seven blocks with five solos. Sophomore setter
Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) added 35 assists. Redshirt-freshman defensive specialist/libero
Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) recorded a match-high 21 digs and senior outside hitter/defensive specialist
Brooke Dunn (Manassas Park, Va./Manassas Park) added 15.
Emily Meredith had 15 digs and Kenzie Guimont added five kills to lead the Warriors.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Kutztown for a 2 p.m. match.
