SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Isabella Rossetti scored a pair of goals to lead fifth-ranked Kutztown (11-1-0, 9-1-0 PSAC East) to a 2-1 win over Shepherd University (2-7-1, 1-7-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday.
Rossetti scored on a header off on an assist from Sadie Goad at the 34:42 mark.
Minutes later Rossetti scored an unassisted goal to give the Golden Bears a 2-0 advantage at halftime.
Junior forward/midfielder Sara Hohn (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson) scored on a penalty kick at the 46:55 mark for the Rams. It was her fifth goal of the season.
Sophomore Faith Geraci (Keedysville, Md./Boonsboro) had a career-high 12 saves in goal for the Rams. Emme Wolfel posted a save for the Golden Bears
Kutztown had a 26-2 advantage in shots with Shepherd holding a 14-2 edge in shots on goal. The Golden Bears had a 10-0 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to West Chester for a noon contest.
