BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Shepherd University (18-1, 4-3 PSAC East) recorded a four-set win over Bloomsburg (9-10, 0-6 PSAC East) in PSAC East volleyball action at Bloomsburg on Saturday. The Rams posted a 25-23, 22-25, 25-15, 25-22 victory. Shepherd upped its win streak to 17 matches.
Junior outside hitter Kiara Rakestraw (Uhrichsville, Ohio/Indian Valley) had 11 kills, while senior middle hitter Georgia Ohmke (Falls Church, Va./Justice) and junior outside hitter Kitanna Rakestraw (Uhrichsville, Ohio/Indian Valley) each added 10. Ohmke added six blocks and junior middle blocker Elyssia Smith (Fredericksburg, Va./Colonial Forge) had five.
Sophomore setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) recorded 40 assists and 23 digs, while redshirt-freshman defensive specialist/libero Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) contributed a match-high 29 digs.
Liz Bopp had 11 kills and Grace Giza added nine to pace the Huskies. Bryn Stek added 21 assists and 18 digs.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Shippensburg for a 7 p.m. match.
