SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Emma Elwell scored a goal and assisted on another to lead Millersville (7-5-3, 7-5-2 PSAC East) to a 2-1 win over Shepherd University (4-10-1, 3-10-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Saturday.
Millersville took a 1-0 lead into halftime as Elwell scored on a pass from Lauren Downey at the 13:41 mark.
Shepherd tied the game when freshman midfielder Delaney Bittner (York, Pa./Red Lion Area Senior) scored on an assist from junior forward/midfielder Sara Hohn (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson) at the 54:17 mark.
Alexis Spencer scored the game-winner on a feed from Elwell at the 72:16 mark.
Senior Lulu Fricks (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) had four saves in goal for the Rams. Reagan Kolinski did not record a save for the Marauders.
Millersville had a 10-2 advantage in shots and a 6-1 edge in shots on goal. Millersville had a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to Shippensburg for a 4 p.m. contest.
