SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (15-1, 4-0 PSAC East) swept West Chester (12-4, 3-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Friday night. The Rams recorded a 25-18, 25-17, 25-16 victory. Shepherd increased its win streak to 14 matches. 

Sophomore outside hitter Mikaylah Hoy (Sharpsburg, Md./Heritage Academy) had 13 kills and seven digs to lead the Rams. Junior outside hitter Kiara Rakestraw (Uhrichsville, Ohio/Indian Valley)added five kills and nine digs, while, while junior outside hitter Kitanna Rakestraw (Uhrichsville, Ohio/Indian Valley) contributed five kills and four blocks (two solos). 

Sophomore setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) recorded 26 assists and redshirt-freshman defensive specialist/libero Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) posted 18 digs. 

Julia Vreeswyk had nine kills to lead the Golden Rams. Jamie Byrne added 24 assists and nine digs, while Sydney Heffner posted 10 digs. 

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Millersville at 2 p.m.
