INDIANA, Pa.  – Graduate student forward Sydney Clayton (Frederick, Md./St. John's) scored a game-high 23 points and junior guard Abby Beeman (Ridgeley, W.Va./Frankfort) added 22 to lead #20 Shepherd University (10-0, 4-0 PSAC) to a 67-58 win over #8/6 Indiana (Pa.)(9-1, 3-1 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at Indiana (Pa.) on Saturday. 

Clayton hit on 7-of-17 shots from the floor with a 9-of-10 effort from the charity stripe. She also grabbed team-high 11 rebounds while adding three assists and three steals. 

Beeman connected on 8-of-14 field goals with a 2-of-6 performance from beyond the arc. She was 4-of-4 from the foul line. She also contributed seven rebounds, six assists, and five steals. 

Graduate student guard Marley McLaughlin (Haymarket, Va./Battlefield)  added 14 points. 

Justina Mascaro scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Crimson Hawks. Courtney Alexander added 11 points. 

Shepherd shot 43.4 percent (23-53) from the floor with a 31.3 percent effort (5-16) from three-point range for the game. The Rams connected on 88.9 percent (16-18) of their free throws. 

IUP hit on 38.1 percent (24-63) from the floor with a 20.8 percent effort (5-24) from three-point range for the game. The Crimson Hawks connected on 71.4 percent (5-7) of their free throws. 

IUP had a 37-34 edge in rebounding. Shepherd forced 17 turnovers and committed 14. Shepherd recorded 12 steals and Indiana (Pa.) had nine. 

The Rams return to action on Sunday when they travel to Seton Hill for a 1 p.m. contest.
