Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Topped by Fourth-Ranked West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Tatum Altman scored five goals and Kelly Baumann added three to lead fourth-ranked East Stroudsburg (5-0, 5-0 PSAC East) to a 21-4 win over Shepherd (2-3, 2-3 PSAC East) in PSAC women's lacrosse action at West Chester on Wednesday.

Junior midfielder Katherine Campbell (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill) scored a pair of goals to lead the Rams. Senior attacker Sidney Kelly (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) added a goal and an assist.

Junior midfielder Kira Barth (Sykesville, Md./Century) tallied a goal, while junior midfielder Makenna Luzier (Boonsboro, Md./Boonsboro/St. Francis) and junior attacker Haleigh Piccolo (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) each contributed an assist.

Junior midfielder Maggie Luzier (Boonsboro, Md./Boonsboro/St. Francis) recorded a team-high four draw controls.

Tara Morrisey, Lindsay Monigle, and Helen Kreschollek added two goals each for the Golden Rams.

West Chester had an 11-3 lead at halftime as Altman and Baumann each scored three first-half goals.

Junior goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded 10 saves for the Rams. Julianne Clemens (2), Jessica Gorr (1), and Ellie Hughes (1) combined to recorded four saves for the Golden Rams.

West Chester had a 36-13 advantage in shots. West Chester was 13-of-13 in clears, while Shepherd was 10-of-16. The Golden Rams had a 20-7 advantage in draw controls and Shepherd had a 15-14 edge in ground balls.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Millersville for a 1 p.m. contest.
