NEWVILLE, Pa. – The Shepherd University men's and women's cross country teams participated at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational on Saturday. The Shepherd men's team finished 15th in a 21-team field, while the women's team had two competitors.
The men were led by junior Stephen Rivera (Kearneysville, W.Va./Home Schooled) who finished 66th with a time of 30:44.161. He was followed by junior Daniel Burton (Hedgesville, W.Va./Hedgesville) (79th, 31:09.463), freshman James Burdock (Stephenson, Va./James Wood) (90th, 31:55.494), freshman Noah Cupp (Martinsburg, W.Va./Hedgesville) (92nd, 32:08.729), and freshman Jonathan Weller (Martinsburg, W.Va./Spring Mills) (104th, 32:54.770).
Senior Mahayana Garcia (Shepherdstown, W.Va./Jefferson) finished 108th with a time of 31:16.211. She was followed by junior Anna Berwanger (Martinsburg, W.Va./Hedgesville) (118th, 33:39.726).
The Rams return to action on Oct, .16 when they travel to Hood College for the 14th Annual Hood College Open.
