SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Kendall Walkes scored a pair of goals to lead West Chester (2-0-1, 2-0-0 PSAC East) to a 4-1 win over Shepherd (1-7-0, 0-3-0 PSAC East) in PSAC East men's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday.
The Golden Rams had a 3-0 lead at the break behind a goal by Doug Goitia and a pair from Walkes. Tommy Bodenschatz scored on a pass from Gio Jimenez at the 67:22 mark to up the lead to 4-0.
Senior midfielder Shamar Robinson (Mount Vernon, NY/Mount Vernon) scored on a penalty kick at the 80:05 mark for the Rams.
Sophomore netminder Billy Wood (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) recorded three saves for the Rams. Jake Langley posted three saves and Daniel Good added another for West Chester.
West Chester had a 13-6 edge in shots with a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal. The Golden Rams had a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Millersville for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
