SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (1-4-0, 0-4-0 PSAC East) dropped a 2-1 decision to Lock Haven (3-3-1, 1-3-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday.
The Bald Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute when Eva Stoessel scored on a feed from Taylor Moritz.
Evelyn Ciaccia scored on a pass from Janessa Swartz in the 56th minute to take a 2-0 advantage.
Freshman midfielder Delaney Bittner (York, Pa./Red Lion Area Senior) scored for the Rams in the 67th minute on a pass from senior forward Madi White (Hamilton, Va./Woodgrove).
Sophomore Faith Geraci (Keedysville, Md./Boonsboro) had 10 saves in goal for the Rams. Kylie Auman had four saves for the Bald Eagles.
Lock Haven had an 18-9 advantage in shots with a 12-5 edge in shots on goal. The Bald Eagles had a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Millersville for a 2 p.m. contest.
