SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (1-1, 0-1 PSAC East) dropped a 2-0 decision to Shippensburg (1-2, 1-0 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon.
The Raiders took a 1-0 lead when Abby Czarnecki scored an unassisted goal at the 20:26 mark.
Shippensburg took a 2-0 advantage when K.K. O'Connell scored on a feed from Allie Christman at the 37:39 mark.
Senior Lulu Fricks (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) (2 GA, 3 saves, 45:00) and sophomore Faith Geraci (Keedysville, Md./Boonsboro) (0 GA, 3 saves, 45:00) combined for six saves in goal for the Rams. Kendra Barlow recorded six saves for the Raiders.
Shippensburg had a 14-12 advantage in shots, while Shepherd recorded a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host West Chester for a 1 p.m. contest.
