SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (1-8-6, 0-6-3 PSAC East) battled to a 1-1 tie with Shippensburg (4-5-3, 0-5-3 PSAC East) in PSAC East men's soccer action at Shepherd on Saturday.
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead on a goal by senior forward Steven Zeballos Choque (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) at the 25:16 mark.
Victor Vottero scored on a penalty kick for Shippensburg at the 86:31 mark to tie the game.
Senior Billy Wood (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) (77:32, 0 GA, 3 saves) and junior Christian Blazes (Hagerstown, Md./Heritage Academy/Hagerstown CC) (12:28, 1 GA, 0 saves) combined for three saves in goal for the Rams. Matt Riley had a pair of saves for the Raiders.
Shepherd had a 12-10 edge in shots with a 4-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Raiders had a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Bloomsburg for a 6 p.m. contest.
