SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Second-ranked West Chester (14-0-0, 13-0-0 PSAC East) recorded a 2-0 win over Shepherd University (5-7-4, 4-7-3 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Rams took a 1-0 lead when Julia Raybold scored on a header off a corner kick by Jordryn Dupes at the 17:13 mark.
West Chester added a late goal on an unassisted tally by Faith Matter at the 89:19 mark.
West Chester had a 20-4 advantage in shots with a 9-4 edge in shots on goal. The Golden Rams had a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Sophomore Alayna Burgamy (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson/Pitt-Johnstown) recorded seven saves in goal for the Rams. Hayley McGee recorded four saves for the Golden Rams.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Mansfield at 3:30 p.m. for Senior Day.
