Shepherd Women’s Soccer Ties Kutztown

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. –Shepherd University (4-4-4, 3-4-3 PSAC East) battled to a 1-1 tie with Kutztown (6-2-3, 5-2-3 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon. 

Shepherd took a 1-0 lead when freshman forward Lydia Gable (Felton, Pa./Kennard Dale) scored on a pass from senior forward/midfielder Sara Hohn (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson) at the 15:18 mark. 

Kutztown tied the game when Kayla Argen scored on a feed from Caroline McDonald at the 18:08 mark. 

Kutztown had an 18-6 advantage in shots with an 11-2 edge in shots on goal. The Golden Bears had a 15-3 advantage in corner kicks. 

Sophomore Alayna Burgamy (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson/Pitt-Johnstown) recorded 10 saves in goal for the Rams. Emme Wolfel posted a save for the Golden Bears. 

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Bloomsburg for a 1 p.m. contest.
