SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (21-6) swept West Chester (20-11) in PSAC Volleyball Championship Tournament action at the Butcher Center on Wednesday night. The Rams earned a 25-15, 25-22, 25-19 victory to up their winning streak to 13 matches.
Senior outside hitter Mikaylah Hoy (Sharpsburg, Md./Heritage Academy) had 11 kills and 11 digs to pace the Rams. Sophomore middle blocker Joi Fairweather (Tamarac, Fla./Calvary Christian Academy) added 10 kills while senior outside hitter Kitanna Rakestraw (Uhrichsville, Ohio/Indian Valley) contributed six.
Junior setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) added 30 assists) and five digs. Redshirt-sophomore libero Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) recorded a match-high 19 digs, three aces, and three assists. Freshman middle hitter Jianna Scott (Bolivar, N.Y./Boiivar-Richmond) posted a match-high five blocks.
Brynn Dreisbach had seven kills and Elise Smith added six for the Golden Rams. Megan St. Jean had 12 assists and Sydney Heffner led the team with 10 digs.
Shepherd advances to face Clarion in the tournament semifinals on Saturday at Gannon at 1 p.m.
