ERIE, Pa. – Samantha Pirosko scored a game-high 27 points to lead Gannon (9-2, 2-2 PSAC) to an 81-29 win over Shepherd University (0-8, 0-3 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at Gannon on Sunday.
Sophomore guard Meghan Shipley (Middletown, Md./Middletown) had nine points and a pair of steals to pace the Rams.
Sophomore guard/forward Sydney Bolles (Elkview, W.Va./Charleston Catholic) added seven points and tied Gannon's Delaney Dogan and Madison Demski for game-high rebounding honors with eight.
Demski added 11 points for the Golden Knights.
Gannon had a 39-6 lead at halftime.
Shepherd shot 20.4 percent (10-49) from the floor with a 6.5 percent (1-16) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit on 50 percent (8-16) of their free throws.
Gannon shot 45.1 percent (32-71) from the floor with a 37 percent effort (10-27) from three-point range. The Golden Knights shot 100 percent (7-7) from the foul line.
Gannon had a 58-24 edge in rebounding. The Rams forced 16 turnovers and committed 17.
The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to Clarion for a 1 p.m. contest.
