LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Eli Washington scored a game-high 31 points to lead Lock Haven (10-12, 7-11 PSAC) to a 68-50 win over Shepherd University (10-13, 6-11 PSAC) in PSAC men's basketball action at Lock Haven on Monday night.
Sophomore guard Phillip Jordan (Rockville, Md./St. Albans) scored a team and career-high 26 points to pace the Rams. He connected on 10-of-18 field goals with a 2-of-6 effort from three-point range. He drained 4-of-4 free throws.
Senior forward Kyle Daggett (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) added 12 points and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds. Junior guard Jon Preston (Brandywine, Md./Rock Creek Christian) contributed a team-high five assists, five boards, and a game-high four steals.
Dymir Montague added seven points, a game-high eight assists, and six rebounds for the Bald Eagles. MarkAnthony Fidelis tossed in 14 points.
Lock Haven had a 32-19 advantage at halftime.
Shepherd connected on 32.1 percent (18-56) from the floor with a 17.2 percent (5-29) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 81.8 percent (9-11) of their free throws.
Lock Haven shot 48 percent (24-50) from the floor with a 35 percent effort (7-20) from three-point range. The Bald Eagles shot 81.3 percent (13-16) from the foul line.
Lock Haven had a 35-32 edge on the boards. Shepherd forced 13 turnovers and committed 15. Shepherd had a 9-5 advantage in steals.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Millersville for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
