EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Junior guard Abby Beeman (Ridgeley, W.Va./Frankfort) had 21 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds to lead Shepherd University (20-6, 14-6 PSAC) to a 67-62 win over East Stroudsburg (3-20, 2-18 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at East Stroudsburg on Saturday. The victory gave Shepherd its 20th win of the season.
Beeman hit on 6-of-16 field goals with a 2-of-9 effort from three-point range. She was 7-of-8 from the foul line.
Graduate student forward Sydney Clayton (Frederick, Md./St. John's) posted her eighth double-double of the season with 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Graduate student guard Marley McLaughlin (Haymarket, Va./Battlefield) added 15 points and a game-high three steals.
Ryan Weise had 21 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists to pace the Warriors. Carley Adams added 14 points and Cassis Ksiazek had 11.
Shepherd had a 29-24 advantage at the break.
Shepherd shot 43.5 percent (27-62) from the floor with a 27.8 percent effort (5-18) from three-point range for the game. The Rams connected on 61.5 percent (8-13) of their free throws.
East Stroudsburg hit on 49.1 percent (27-55) from the floor with a 30 percent effort (3-10) from three-point range for the game. The Warriors connected on 71.4 percent (5-7) of their free throws.
Shepherd had a 38-27 advantage on the boards. Shepherd forced 16 turnovers and committed 17.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Shippensburg for a 5:30 p.m. game for Senior Night.
