Shepherd Softball Outslugs West Virginia Wesleyan

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Shepherd University (1-1) handed West Virginia Wesleyan a 10-7 setback in softball action at the Glenville State Invitational at the Sue Morris Sports Complex on Saturday. The Rams were slated to take on IUP in a later contest. 

Junior outfielder Hannah Beeler.(Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and junior first baseman Cameron Davis (Ayden, N.C./South Central/UNC Pembroke) belted a two-run homer to lead the Rams. 

Sophomore pitcher Hannah Ruffner (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) picked up the win. Junior pitcher Katie Laing (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) gained the save.  

The Rams return to invitational action on Sunday when they face Mercyhurst at noon.
