GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Shepherd University (2-2) dropped an 8-5 decision to Mercyhurst in softball action at the Glenville State Invitational at the Sue Morris Sports Complex on Sunday. The Rams gained a 3-2 triumph over IUP in the later contest on Saturday. 

Details from the Shepherd-IUP game are not available. 

Sophomore infielder Caitlin Donnelly (Newark, Del./Padua Academy) went 1-for-3 with four runs batted in to lead the Rams against Mercyhurst. She belted a three-run blast in the fifth. 

Sarah Koscho went 2-for-3 with three RBI for the Lakers. She hit a two-run homer in the sixth. 

Mikaela Schramski (4.1 IP, 1 H, 3 ER, 5 K, 3 BB) gained the win for Mercyhurst. Kaitlin Hoffner (2.2 IP 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 K, 0 BB) got the save. Sophomore pitcher Kourtney McNatt (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink/WV Tech) (6.0 IP, 11 H, 8 R, 4 ER, 8 K 0 BB)  took the loss for the Rams. 

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Indiana (Pa.) for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
