BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Meghan Corridoni scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Bloomsburg (15-8, 13-4 PSAC) to a 55-46 win over Shepherd University (17-4, 11-4 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at Bloomsburg on Saturday.
Junior guard Abby Beeman (Ridgeley, W.Va./Frankfort) scored a game-high 22 points to pace Shepherd. She added seven steals, five rebounds, and three assists.
Graduate student forward Sydney Clayton (Frederick, Md./St. John's) added 10 points, seven steals, and five rebounds.
Emma Saxton added nine points, six rebounds, and six assists for the Huskies.
Bloomsburg had a 29-17 halftime lead.
The Rams trailed by as many as 13 points in the third quarter but used a late rally to cut the lead to 39-33 heading into the final quarter. Shepherd rallied to within four points after a three-pointer by Beeman with 7:29 left in the game but would get no closer.
Shepherd shot 26.3 percent (18-68) from the floor with a 5.3 percent effort (1-19) from three-point range for the game. The Rams connected on 100 percent (9-9) of their free throws.
Bloomsburg hit on 46.3 percent (19-41) from the floor with a 62.5 percent effort (5-8) from three-point range for the game. The Golden Rams connected on 70.6 percent (12-17) of their free throws.
Bloomsburg had a 45-30 rebounding advantage. Shepherd forced 30 turnovers and committed 13. Shepherd had an 18-5 edge in steals.
The Rams return to action on Monday when they host California (Pa.) for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
