SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Keri Barnett scored seven goals and Hannah Stanislawczyk added six to lead eighth-ranked West Chester (6-1, 4-1 PSAC East) to a 23-10 win over Shepherd University (3-5, 1-3 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Wednesday.
Senior attacker Katherine Campbell (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill) had four goals and senior midfielder Maddison Young (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) added three to pace the Rams.
Sophomore attack Sam Lassahn (Baltimore, Md./Concordia Prep), sophomore midfielder Paige Stoner (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright), and sophomore attacker Shanna Dextradeur (Middletown, Md./Middletown) each contributed a goal. Freshman midfielder Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) had a pair of assists, while senior midfielder/defender Paige Alexander (Ashburn, Va./Briar Woods) recorded a team-best seven draw controls.
Lindsay Monigle added three goals and three assists for the Golden Rams. Grace Frasso added a match-high 10 draw controls.
West Chester had an 11-4 advantage at halftime.
Senior goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) had five saves for the Rams. Amber Weedon (4) and Jessica Gorr (11) combined for 15 saves for West Chester.
West Chester had a 38-29 edge in shots with a 28-25 advantage in shots on goal. The Golden Rams were 17-of-23 in clears, while Shepherd was 15-of-17. Shepherd had a 23-16 edge in ground balls and West Chester had a 21-15 advantage in draw controls.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Millersville for a 2 p.m. contest.
