MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Shepherd University (3-6, 1-4, PSAC East) dropped a 17-13 decision to Millersvillle (7-3, 3-2 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Millersville on Friday afternoon. Graduate student attacker Sidney Kelly (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) (101 career goals) tallied a pair of goals on the day for the Rams to surpass the 100-goal mark for her career.
Sophomore midfielder Paige Stoner (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) had three goals and two assists to lead the Rams. She also added a team-best seven draw controls. Senior attack Katherine Campbell (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill) and sophomore attacker Sam Lassahn (Baltimore, Md./Concordia Prep) each contributed three goals.
Sophomore attacker Shanna Dextradeur (Middletown, Md./Middletown) and sophomore midfielder Kaiya Edwards (Brogue, Pa./Red Lion) added single tallies.
Gilliam Zimmerman and Kristi Kada each had five goals to lead the Marauders.
Millersville had a 9-7 lead at halftime.
Senior goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded 10 saves for the Rams. Morgan Scott had nine saves for Millersville.
Millersville had a 38-29 edge in shots with a 27-22 advantage in shots on goal. Shepherd was 17-of-23 in clears while Millersville was 9-of-10. The Marauders had a 24-10 edge in draw controls.
The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Kutztown for a 4 p.m. contest.
