Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Falls at Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Alana Cardaci had six goals and an assist and Hannah Seifried added five goals and a pair of assists to lead Shippensburg (3-10, 1-7 PSAC East) to a 16-10 win over Shepherd University (4-8, 2-6 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Shippensburg on Wednesday afternoon. 

Sophomore attacker Sam Lassahn (Baltimore, Md./Concordia Prep) had three goals and senior midfielder/defender Paige Alexander (Ashburn, Va./Briar Woods) added a pair of goals to pace the Rams. Lassahn also recorded a game-high seven draw controls. 

Graduate student attacker Sidney Kelly (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) and freshman midfielder Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) recorded a goal and an assist.  

Senior midfielder Maddison Young (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle), senior midfielder Kira Barth (Sykesville, Md./Century), and sophomore midfielder Kaiya Edwards (Brogue, Pa./Red Lion) each netted a goal. Senior attacker Katherine Campbell (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill) added a pair of assists. 

Sara Vosburg and Bailey Krahl each added a pair of goals for the Raiders. 

Shippensburg had an 11-3 lead at halftime. 

Senior goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded nine saves for the Rams. Kayla Vosburg recorded 17 saves for Shippensburg. 

Shepherd had a 34-31 advantage in shots with a 27-25 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 18-of-20 in clears while Shippensburg was 18-of-21. Shepherd had a 17-13 edge in draw controls and a 22-17 advantage in ground balls. 

The Rams return to action next Tuesday when they travel to West Chester for a 4 p.m. contest.
