WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Shepherd University (4-9, 2-7 PSAC East) dropped a 21-3 decision to fifth-ranked West Chester (12-1, 9-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at West Chester on Tuesday.
Keri Barnett, Hannah Stanislawczyk, and Helen Kreschollek each scored five goals to pace the Golden Rams. Barnett added game highs of 10 draw controls and six assists.
Graduate student attacker Sidney Kelly (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown), senior midfielder Kira Barth (Sykesville, Md./Century), and senior midfielder/defender Paige Alexander (Ashburn, Va./Briar Woods) each scored a goal for the Rams.
Senior attacker Katherine Campbell (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill) contributed two assists and sophomore attacker Sam Lassahn (Baltimore, Md./Concordia Prep) had a team-best three draw controls.
Jordan Santana added two goals and an assist for the Golden Rams.
West Chester had a 12-1 lead at halftime.
Senior goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded 17 saves for the Rams. Jessica Gorr (1) and Amber Weedon (3) teamed to record four saves for West Chester.
West Chester had a 43-10 edge in shots with a 38-7 advantage in shots on goal. Shepherd was 14-of-24 in clears while West Chester was 18-of-21. The Golden Rams had a 19-8 edge in draw controls and a 30-15 advantage in ground balls.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a noon contest.
