SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Senior forward/midfielder Sara Hohn (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson) scored a goal and assisted on another to lead Shepherd University to a 2-1 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College in women's soccer action at Shepherd on Sunday.
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead when freshman defender Olivia Watt (Phoenixville, Pa./Spring-Ford Area) off a corner kick by Hohn at the 20:21 mark.
Hohn scored on a pass from sophomore midfielder Delaney Bittner (York, Pa./Red Lion Area Senior) at the 45:45 mark to give the Rams a 2-0 advantage.
Natalie Oden scored on a feed by Ashley Argento at the 82:35 mark for the Chargers.
Shepherd had a 20-15 advantage in shots, while shots on goal were even at eight apiece. Shepherd had a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.
Junior goalkeeper Faith Leisinger (Keedysville, Md./Boonsboro) recorded seven saves for the Rams. Alessandra Santoriello posted six saves for the Chargers.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Kutztown for a 4 p.m. match.
