EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- Shepherd University (2-3-1, 1-3-0 PSAC East) dropped a 2-1 decision to East Stroudsburg (4-0-1, 2-0-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at East Stroudsburg on Saturday.
East Stroudsburg took a 1-0 lead at the 11:06 mark when Natalie Schooley scored on a pass from Rebecca Kotula.
Kotulas scored on a penalty kick at the 23:37 mark to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead at the break.
Freshman midfielder Josie Beezel (Woodsboro, Md./Linganore) scored at the 78:30 mark on a pass from senior defender/midfielder Alyssa Nazarok (Northfield, N.J./Mainland) for the Rams.
Shepherd had a 24-20 advantage in shots with shots on goal even at 10-all. Each team had four corner kicks.
Junior goalkeeper Faith Leisinger (Keedysville, Md./Boonsboro) recorded eight saves for the Rams. Emmy Clarkson posted nine saves for the Warriors.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Shippensburg for a 1 p.m. match.
