Shepherd Women’s Soccer Battles to 1-1 Tie with Shippensburg

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Senior forward/midfielder Sara Hohn (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson) scored on a penalty kick at the 89:58 mark to help Shepherd University (2-3-2, 1-3-1 PSAC East) battle to a 1-1 tie with Shippensburg (0-3-2, 0-2-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon 

Shippensburg took a 1-0 lead into the break when Skylar Lambert scored on a pass from Ryleigh Cook at the 7:06 mark. 

Shepherd had a 23-9 advantage in shots with a 10-2 edge in shots on goal. The Rams led in corner kicks, 9-0. 

Junior goalkeeper Faith Leisinger (Keedysville, Md./Boonsboro) recorded one save for the Rams. Morgan Molyneaux posted nine saves for the Raiders. 

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to West Chester for a noon contest. 

Notes: Sara Hohn leads the Rams with four goals this season … she has two game-winning goals and a pair of game-tying tallies.
