Shepherd Women’s Soccer Falls to #5 West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Faith Matter and Kaitlynn Haugley each had two goals to lead fifth-ranked West Chester (6-0-0, 5-0-0 PSAC East) to a 5-0 win over Shepherd University (2-4-2, 1-4-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at West Chester on Saturday. 

West Chester took a 2-0 lead into the break as Matter and Haugley each had first-half tallies. 

The duo each added second-half goals and Mia Amen also added a goal. 

West Chester had a 30-10 advantage in shots with a 16-5 edge in shots on goal. The Rams had a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. 

Sophomore Alayna Burgamy (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson/Pitt-Johnstown) recorded 11 saves in goal for the Rams. Hayley McGee posted five saves for the Golden Rams. 

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Mansfield for a 4 p.m. contest.
