MANSFIELD, Pa. – Senior forward/midfielder Sara Hohn (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson) scored on a free kick at the 85:24 mark to lift Shepherd University (3-4-2, 2-4-1 PSAC East) to a 4-3 win over Mansfield (1-6-1, 0-6-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Mansfield on Wednesday.
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead at the 10:40 mark on a penalty kick by Hohn.
Sophomore midfielder Delaney Bittner (York, Pa./Red Lion Area Senior) scored an unassisted goal at the 43:41 mark to give the Rams a 2-0 advantage at the break.
Bailey Dockman scored at the 48:08 mark to put the Mounties on the board.
Katelyn Rueppel scored on a pass from Emily Smith at the 71:29 mark to tie the game.
Mansfield took the lead on a penalty kick by Olivia Bowman less than a minute later.
Freshman midfielder Adrianna Morales (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel) scored an unassisted goal at the 78:16 mark to set the stage for Hohn's game-winner.
Shepherd had a 21-14 edge in shots with a 12-7 advantage in shots on goal. The Rams had a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
Sophomore Alayna Burgamy (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson/Pitt-Johnstown) recorded four saves in goal for the Rams. Samantha Merklin posted eight saves for the Mounties.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Lock Haven for a 4 p.m. contest.
