SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Freshman forward Lydia Gable (Felton, Pa./Kennard Dale) scored a pair of goals to lead Shepherd University (4-4-2, 3-4-1 PSAC East) to a 2-1 win over Lock Haven (3-5-1, 1-5-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Saturday.
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead at the 7:03 mark when Gable scored on a pass from senior forward/midfielder Sara Hohn (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson).
Gable scored on a feed from sophomore midfielder Myra Striebig (York, Pa./Dallastown Area).to up the lead to 2-0.
Sydney Bolles scored at the 64:03 mark for the Bald Eagles.
Shepherd had a 13-8 edge in shots with a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal. The Rams had a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
Sophomore Alayna Burgamy (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson/Pitt-Johnstown) recorded three saves in goal for the Rams. Megan Miller posted four saves for the Bald Eagles.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Millersville for a 1 p.m. contest.
