SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (8-6, 0-2 PSAC East) dropped a 3-2 decision to East Stroudsburg (8-7, 2-0 PSAC East) in PSAC East volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Friday night. The Warriors earned a 25-18, 14-25, 26-28, 25-20, 15-8 win.
Senior outside hitter Mikaylah Hoy (Sharpsburg, Md./Heritage Academy) had 18 kills and 16 digs to lead the Rams. Sophomore middle blocker Joi Fairweather (Tamarac, Fla./Calvary Christian Academy) added eight kills and seven blocks.
Junior setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) contributed 37 assists and 18 digs, while redshirt-sophomore libero Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) recorded 18 digs. Freshman middle blocker Riley Moreno (Elburn, Ill./St. Charles North) posted a match-high nine blocks and sophomore middle hitter Renee Killough (Bloomery, W.Va./Hampshire) added eight.
Kaylee LoPresto had 11 kills and 14 digs to lead the Warriors. Makayla Baca added 26 digs.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Kutztown at 2 p.m.
