SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Jack Dieffenderfer scored a pair of goals to lead West Chester (8-2-2, 5-1-1 PSAC East) to a 3-0 win over Shepherd University (2-7-2, 1-5-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East men's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday.
Dieffenderfer scored at the 28:31 mark of an assist from Peter Tichy and added his second tally on an assist from Phil Udo-Inyang at the 40:56 mark to give the Golden Rams a 2-0 advantage at the break.
West Chester added a second half goal as Andrew Markopoulos scored on a feed from Owen Slack at the 50:18 mark.
Senior goalkeeper Christian Blazes (Hagerstown, Md./Heritage Academy) posted six saves for the Rams. Daniel Good recorded four saves for West Chester.
West Chester had a 22-5 advantage in shots with a 9-4 edge in shots on goal. The Golden Rams had a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a 7 p.m. contest.
