EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – East Stroudsburg (6-1-5, 2-1-5 PSAC East) posted a 5-1 win over Shepherd University (2-8-2, 1-6-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East men's soccer action at East Stroudsburg on Saturday.
East Stroudsburg took a 1-0 lead when Bradley Turocy scored on a pass from Colby Raymond at the 7:05 mark.
The Warriors took a 3-0 lead into the break as Trevor Paone scored an unassisted gaol at the 39:11 mark and Austin Weeks-Woodward added another unassisted tally at the 40:45 mark.
Ignasi Cucurella opened the second half scoring with a goal at the 49:09 mark to take a 4-0 lead.
Junior forward Andrew West (Annandale, Va./Carlisle {Pa.}) scored on a header off a pass from sophomore midfielder Bryce Kilmer (Inwood, W.Va./Saint James School) at the 53:38 mark to cut the lead to 4-1.
The Warriors added a goal by Raymond on an assist from Turocy at the 54:44 mark to \complete the scoring.
Sophomore goalkeeper Carter Cave (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) posted seven saves for the Rams. Brayden Evans (71:22, 1 GA 2 saves) and Aiden Hoopes (18:36, 0 GA, 1 save) combined to record three saves for East Stroudsburg..
East Stroudsburg had a 34-8 advantage in shots with a 12-4 edge in shots on goal. The Warriors had a 12-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Bloomsburg for a 7 p.m. contest.
