SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (9-10, 4-2 PSAC East) handed Millersville (7-11, 1-5 PSAC East) a 3-1 setback in PSAC East volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Friday night. The Rams recorded a 25-17, 26-24, 23-25, 25-18 decision.
Freshman outside hitter Jordan Pryor (Middletown, Md./Middletown) recorded 12 kills and 13 digs to lead the Rams. She also added four block assists.
Freshman outside hitter Amya Davis (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) added 11 kills, while junior middle blocker/right side Joi Fairweather (Tamarac, Fla./Calvary Christian Academy) had 10. Freshman middle hitter/right side Sophia Ryan (Monroe, NY/Monroe Woodbury) contributed nine kills and four block assists.
Senior setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) contributed 42 assists, six digs, and a pair of aces. Senior libero Claire Ellis Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) recorded match-high efforts of 25 digs and six aces.
Taylor Welter and Emma Kirwin each had 14 kills to lead the Marauders. Elizabeth Villegas added 24 digs.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host West Chester for a 4 p.m. contest.
