SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (10-10, 5-2 PSAC East) downed West Chester (8-9, 2-5 PSAC East) in five sets in PSAC East volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday. The Rams recorded a 25-22, 25-21, 23-25, 23-25, 16-14 victory
Freshman outside hitter Jordan Pryor (Middletown, Md./Middletown) and freshman outside hitter Amya Davis (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) recorded 15 kills to lead the Rams. Pryor also added 11 digs and three aces.
Junior middle hitter Renee Killough (Bloomery, W.Va./Hampshire) added 12 kills and nine blocks (four solo blocks).
Senior setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) contributed 47 assists and 15 digs. Senior libero Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) had 19 digs, while junior libero/defensive specialist Kierra Anderson (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) recorded 15.
Zoe Haines had 13 kills to lead the Golden Rams. Lexy Caltabiano added 12 kills and 19 digs.
The Rams return to action on Tuesday when the Rams travel to Wheeling for a 6 p.m. contest.
