Shepherd Women’s Soccer Rallies to Tie East Stroudsburg

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (3-4-5, 1-4-5 PSAC East) rallied to gain a 2-2 tie with East Stroudsburg (9-1-3, 7-1-3 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Saturday. 

The Warriors took a 1-0 lead into halftime as Natalie Schooley scored on a penalty kick at the 26:03 mark. 

Abby James scored on a pass from Millie Smith at the 55:33 mark to give East Stroudsburg a 2-0 lead. 

Senior midfielder/forward Paris Kimbrell (Martinsburg, W.Va./Hedgesville) scored on a feed from junior midfielder Delaney Bittner (York, Pa./Red Lion Area Senior)at the 60:45 mark for the Rams to cut the lead to 2-1.     

Shepherd got the equalizer when freshman midfielder Taylor Schuck (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) scored on an assist from sophomore defender Erika Moore (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) at the 71:29 mark.        

Junior goalkeeper Alayna Burgamy (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson/Pitt-Johnstown) recorded a pair of saves for the Rams. Emmy Clarkson had six saves for the Warriors. 

Shepherd had a 15-12 edge in shots with an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal. The Rams had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks. 

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Millersville at 1 p.m.
