WHEELING, W.Va. – Shepherd University (10-11) fell to Wheeling (15-6) in non-conference volleyball action at Wheeling on Tuesday night. The Cardinals posted a 25-18, 25-15, 25-10 victory.
Junior middle blocker/right side Joi Fairweather (Tamarac, Fla./Calvary Christian Academy) recorded eight kills and junior middle hitter Renee Killough (Bloomery, W.Va./Hampshire) added seven kills and six blocks (two solos) to pace the Rams.
Senior setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) contributed 26 assists, 10 digs, and four blocks. Senior libero Claire Ellis Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) posted nine digs, while junior libero/defensive specialist Kierra Anderson (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) had eight.
Tylah Yeomans had 14 kills, while Riley Kindall added 10 kills and 14 digs to lead the Cardinals.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Shippensburg for a 7 p.m. match.
