SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shepherd University (10-12, 5-3 PSAC East) dropped a 3-1 decision to Shippensburg (16-7, 7-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East volleyball action at Shippensburg on Friday night. The Raiders gained a 25-27, 25-22, 26-24, 25-16 win.
Shepherd was led by freshman outside hitter Jordan Pryor (Middletown, Md./Middletown) and freshman middle hitter/right side Sophia Ryan (Monroe, NY/Monroe Woodbury) who each recorded 11 kills. Pryor also added nine digs.
Junior middle hitter Renee Killough (Bloomery, W.Va./Hampshire) added nine kills and nine blocks, while senior setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) contributed 34 assists, 11 digs, and five blocks. Senior libero Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) recorded a match-high 27 digs.
Gracen Nutt had 14 kills and Emily Gardner added 12 to lead the Raiders. Kearstin Davis recorded 42 assists and 21 digs.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Millersville for a 7 p.m. match
