BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Ty Pringle scored on a four-yard run to cap an eight-play, 88-yard drive with 7:27 remaining in regulation to lift Bloomsburg (2-7, 1-5 PSAC East) to a 14-10 win over Shepherd (7-2, 4-2 PSAC East) in PSAC East football action at Bloomsburg on Saturday.
Sean Hunt scored on a two-yard plunge with 11:22 left in the first quarter to give Bloomsburg a 7-0 lead.
Junior quarterback Seth Morgan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon/VMI) teamed with junior wide receiver Ethon Williams (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) on a 35-yard scoring strike with 38 seconds left in the half. Sophomore kicker James Bozek (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) added the extra point.
Shepherd took a 10-7 lead on a 37-yard field goal by Bozek with 3:05 left in the third quarter to open the second half scoring.
Shepherd had 312 yards of total offense while Bloomsburg had 317. Both teams committed three turnovers.
Morgan completed 27-of-37 passes for 198 yards for the Rams. Ben Ries connected on 14-of-26 passes for 168 yards.
Redshirt-freshman running back Jordan Barnett (Fredericksburg, Va./Colonial Forge/Southern Utah) had eight carries for 69 yards to lead the Shepherd ground game. Kaleb Monaco rushed 19 times for 78 yards for the Huskies.
Junior wide receiver Jeremiah Taylor (Upper Marlboro, Md./Annapolis Area Christian School/Fairmont State) had seven receptions for 45 yards and freshman wide receiver Kordell Batten (Waldorf, Md./St. Charles) added six grabs for 58 yards to lead the Shepherd receivers. Monaco led the Huskies with six catches for 40 yards.
Sophomore linebacker JT Kouame-Yao (Centreville, Va./Westfield) recorded 10 tackles (two solos) to lead the Rams. Junior linebacker Harold O'Neal (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg) added nine stops (two solos). Nate Capers had seven tackles (three solos) to pace the Huskies.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host East Stroudsburg at noon for the Monte Cater NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salute Game.
