KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Shepherd University (8-9, 3-1 PSAC East) defeated Kutztown (7-9, 0-4 PSAC East) in five sets in PSAC East volleyball action at Kutztown on Friday night. The Rams recorded a 23-25, 25-9, 21-25, 25-23, 15-10 triumph to record their third consecutive victory.
Freshman outside hitter Jordan Pryor (Middletown, Md./Middletown) recorded 15 kills and freshman outside hitter Amya Davis (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) added 13 to pace the Rams
Senior setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) contributed 46 assists and a match-high five aces. Senior libero Claire Ellis Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) recorded a match-high 20 digs.
Junior middle hitter Renee Killough (Bloomery, W.Va./Hampshire) had eight kills and eight blocks and junior middle blocker/right side Joi Fairweather (Tamarac, Fla./Calvary Christian Academy) added nine kills and five blocks.
Gabriela Fialova had a match-high 19 kills and nine digs to lead the Golden Bears. Sadie Doss had 15 kills, while Cat Farole posted 34 assists and 10 digs.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a 4 p.m. match.
